      The Senate Law and Public Safety Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate Bill No. 1164.

      This bill would allow the sale of certain mercantile items by retail alcoholic beverage licensees at privately-owned entertainment facilities with a seating capacity of at least 4,000 that feature sports, commercial, cultural and artistic events. The bill would permit the sale on the licensed premises of publications, clothing, souvenirs and sports equipment traditionally associated with an event at the facility.

      The committee amendment is technical in nature and conforms section 2 of the bill, R.S.33:1-12, to the provisions of P.L.1996, c.83.
