The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 1260 of 1996.
Senate Bill No. 1260 appropriates $5 million from the "Public Purpose and Building Community-Based Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1989" to the Department of Law and Public Safety, Juvenile Justice Commission, for the construction of a 48-bed housing unit and a gymnasium/visitors facility at the New Jersey Training School for Boys (NJTSB). The NJTSB presently houses 475 juvenile inmates, which is 19 percent over the facility's capacity.
As reported, this bill is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2051 of 1996 (Wright/Kramer).
FISCAL IMPACT
