STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Senate Health Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 1337.

      This bill changes the term "invalid coach service" to "mobility assistance vehicle service" under the Medicaid program, which covers this form of nonemergency health care transportation provided to Medicaid recipients pursuant to P.L.1981, c.134 (C.30:4D-6.2 et seq.). The new term provides a better description of the nature of this service and deletes any reference to a person's disability.

      This bill is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2113 (Quigley/Jones), which the committee also reported favorably on this date.
