A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 30, 1995 (P.L.1995, c.164).

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1995, c.164, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

State Aid:

    Restoration of Wesley Lake . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ($50,000)

The amount hereinabove for the restoration of Wesley Lake shall be used by the Department of Environmental Protection to provide a grant of $50,000 for the restoration of Wesley Lake, located in Asbury Park and Ocean Grove, Monmouth county, New Jersey. The grant shall be provided to the city of Asbury Park, the township of Neptune or other appropriate parties responsible for the restoration of the lake as determined by the department. The department shall also determine the proportion of the grant to be awarded to each party responsible for restoring Wesley Lake.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill would appropriate $50,000 to the Department of Environmental Protection to provide a grant to Asbury Park and to Neptune Township, or other appropriate parties as determined by the department, for the restoration of Wesley Lake located in Asbury Park and Ocean Grove in Monmouth county, New Jersey.

    In 1995, Wesley Lake was ranked as the number one public lake restoration project in the State and was to receive a federal grant for the restoration until the funding for the project was eliminated in the federal budget.

Appropriates $50,000 from the General Fund to the DEP for the restoration of Wesley Lake in Asbury Park and Ocean Grove in Monmouth county.
