An Act concerning self-inspection of certain weighing and measuring devices and supplementing Title 51 of the Revised Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. a. Except as provided in subsection b. of this section, every weighing and measuring device located within this State used solely for the purpose of weighing or measuring liquefied petroleum gas shall only be tested, inspected and sealed by the owner or operator of that device, according to rules promulgated by the State superintendent.

    b. Any superintendent shall upon the request of an interested party cause a test to be made of any weighing or measuring device used for the purpose of weighing or measuring liquefied petroleum gas, according to rules promulgated by the State superintendent.

 

    2. This act shall take effect 90 days following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill provides that every weighing and measuring device located within this State used solely for the purpose of weighing or measuring liquefied petroleum gas shall only be tested, inspected and sealed by the owner or operator of that device, with certain exceptions.
