with Senate Floor Amendments
(Proposed By Senator BRYANT)
ADOPTED: JUNE 5, 1997
Senate Bill No. 1650 (1R) requires private passenger automobile insurers to provide at least a five percent rate reduction for persons who successfully complete approved driver education courses. The bill provides that only persons who have not completed a high school driver education course pursuant to N.J.S.18A:26-2 would be eligible for the reduction authorized under the bill. This Senate amendment provides that a person who completed the high school driver education and who subsequently completes a course approved under the provisions of this bill would also be eligible for the reduction under this bill.
