      The Assembly Local Government Committee reports favorably the Senate Committee Substitute for Senate Bill No. 1708.

      The bill renames the Department of Community Affairs as the Department of Community and Urban Affairs.

      Senate Bill No. 1708 (SCS) is identical to Assembly Bill No. 2690, which also was reported by the committee on March 3, 1997.
