STATEMENT

The Department of Personnel no longer publishes a monthly bulletin of upcoming examinations for civil service positions but, instead, now makes this information available in an electronic format. In order to more widely disseminate information about State job opportunities, this bill provides that in addition to any other means of announcement, the Commissioner of Personnel shall establish a toll-free telephone number which can be used by persons to obtain information regarding the holding of civil service examinations for positions in State service.

Directs the Commissioner of Personnel to establish a toll-free telephone number so that persons can obtain information regarding the holding of civil service examinations for State positions.
