SENATE, No. 2013

      The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably the Senate Committee Substitute for Senate Bill No. 2013.

      This Senate Committee Substitute for Senate Bill No. 2013 authorizes the sale of certain surplus real property owned by the State, the leasing of certain property and the conveyance of an easement across certain property. The bill authorizes: the Department of Human Services to sell various parcels in Morris County, Monmouth County, and Mercer County; the Department of Corrections to sell two parcels in Somerset County and in Essex County; the Department of the Treasury to sell two parcels in Union County and in Mercer County; the Department of Law and Public safety to sell a parcel in Passaic County; the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to enter into a lease and to grant an easement for property in Monmouth County; and the Department of Education to lease property in Mercer County.          The sales, conveyances, leases and grants of easement must be accomplished in accordance with the terms and conditions set by the State House Commission. The proceeds will be deposited into the General Fund.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

      According to the Governor's office, the State will realize approximately $10 million in revenues from the enactment of this bill.
