This bill appropriates $60,000 to the Department of Labor for a grant to the Institute for Arts and Humanities Education for the establishment of an Arts Service Corps at the New Jersey Summer Arts Institute. The Arts Service Corps will provide culturally diverse, young artists, drawn from all of the State's counties, with an opportunity to combine summer learning experiences with year-round employment. By providing students with necessary skills and first time work experience, the corps is intended to encourage students to pursue additional education and training so that they may ultimately qualify for more highly skilled jobs.

The Institute for Arts and Humanities Education is a non-profit organization located in New Brunswick.
