An Act concerning certain certificates of licensure, registration or certification.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. a. No certificate of licensure, registration or certification which is issued by the State or any board or commission so authorized by the State and is required by law to be publicly displayed shall contain the home address of the licensee, registrant or certified person unless that home address is also the licensee's, registrant's or certified person's place of business.

    b. The provisions of subsection a. of this section shall not apply to motor vehicle registrations and driver's licenses issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles in the Department of Transportation.

 

    2. This act shall take effect on the 60th day following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill prohibits the State and its various licensing boards from including the home address of a licensee, registrant or certified person on the certificate of licensure, registration or certification which is required by law to be publicly displayed unless the home address of that person is the also the business address of that person. The provisions of the bill do not apply to motor vehicle registrations and driver's licenses issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
