An Act concerning joint self-insurance by boards of education and supplementing P.L.1983, c.108 (C.18A:18B-1 et seq.).

Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. For the purposes of the provisions of P.L.1983, c.108 (C.18A:18B-1 et seq.), "board of education" shall be deemed to include the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill provides that for the purposes of the provisions of P.L.1983, c.108 ( C.18A:18B-1 et seq.), a board of education shall be deemed to include the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials. This would allow the association to become part of a school board insurance group and to participate with the group in risk management programs and joint self-insurance funds.

Authorizes the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials to participate with boards of education in joint self-insurance programs.
