A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1998 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 27, 1997 (P.L.1997, c.131).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1997, c.131, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

2. This act shall take effect immediately.
STATEMENT
This bill appropriates $5,000,000 to the Judiciary from the General Fund for court services. Specifically, the bill appropriates $2,250,000 for additional personnel for the Family Courts, in the area of domestic violence hearing officers and other support staff, and $750,000 for additional personnel for Probation Services to handle rising adult and juvenile caseloads. Additionally, this bill appropriates $2,000,000 for field operations as required by the Unification Letter of Agreement as incorporated by reference into Section 2 of P.L.1994, c.162 (C.2B:11-1 et seq.), the "Judicial Employee Unification Act."
Supplemental appropriation of $5,000,000 to the Judiciary for court services.
