      The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 2501.

      Senate Bill No. 2501 makes a fiscal year 1998 supplemental appropriation of $1.8 million to the Department of Treasury for Outstanding Scholar Recruitment Program grants. This appropriation will be in addition to the $1.8 million that will be appropriated by the fiscal year 1998 appropriations bill now pending before the Legislature. Also, this bill reappropriates for fiscal year 1998 the balances unexpended in fiscal year 1997 for the Outstanding Scholar Recruitment Program.

FISCAL IMPACT:

      This bill appropriates for fiscal year 1998 $1.8 million from the General Fund to the Department of Treasury for Outstanding Scholar Recruitment Program grants.
