SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 40

with Senate Floor Amendments

(Proposed By Senator SCHLUTER)

ADOPTED: MAY 22, 1997

The purpose of this Senate amendment is to conform the description of this Constitutional amendment in the Interpretive Statement with the text of the amendment, namely, that the number of signatures required for the recall of an elected public official shall be at least 25% of the number of registered voters who voted in the electoral district in the last preceding election at which the office of the official sought to be recalled was filled for a full term.

In the previously-amended version of this resolution, the Interpretive Statement did not explain that the number of required signatures shall be at least 25% of the number of registered voters who voted in the district in the last preceding election.
