STATEMENT TO

SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION No. 6

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: FEBRUARY 15, 1996

      The Senate Senior Citizens, Veterans' Affairs and Agriculture Committee reports favorably Senate Joint Resolution No. 6.

      This joint resolution designates that portion of Interstate Highway Route 95 in Mercer County under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Department of Transportation as the "AMVETS Memorial Highway" in memory of those members of the Armed Forces who have served in World War II and subsequent conflicts. The bill authorizes the Commissioner of Transportation to erect appropriate signs bearing that name.

      This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review which has been performed.
