The Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 2938.
As reported, the bill requires the Chief Administrator (chief administrator) of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (commission), during the COVID-19 public health emergency, to reserve either one day per week or a certain time each day or each week at certain commission agency locations to offer appointments exclusively to the following individuals to obtain a REAL ID driver’s license, probationary license, or identification card: (1) any individual who is 65 years of age or older and (2) customers who, due to a medical condition diagnosed by a licensed medical doctor or osteopathic physician and evidenced by proof, in a form prescribed by the chief administrator, cannot wear masks or face coverings.
As reported, Senate Bill No. 2938 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 4742, which was also reported by the committee on this date.
