Instructions for Downloading the Adobe Acrobat Viewer
The Adobe Acrobat Viewer is necessary for viewing and printing
the full text of legislative documents. It is advisable to print
these directions for your reference.
Step 2 asks you to choose the reader (Acrobat
Reader or Acrobat Reader with Search), choose your platform
(for instance
Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 3.1 Macintosh)
and choose the lanquage version (English, Dutch, Japanese, French,
etc.)
Scroll to the Download button and click on
it. A downloading and installing screen which names the version
of Acrobat Reader you selected will appear.
Scroll to the download link such as "ar32e301.exe."
Click on the .exe file in hypertext to download
the installer file.
A screen may appear with a warning about viruses.
Click on "save it to disk." Then click on "OK."
A "Save as" screen will appear. Save
the .exe file to the drive and directory that contains your
Internet Explorer Software or Netscape Software, such as "C:\iexplore\"
or "C:\netscape\."
Click on "OK."
The file will download to your computer. This
will take a few minutes.
When the download is completed, exit from your
browser.
Go into File Manager.
Go to the directory to which you downloaded
the .exe file and double click on it.
A screen titled "InstallShield Self-extracting
EXE" will appear. Click on "yes."
Installshield will extract the files which
will install Acrobat Reader.
A "Welcome" screen appears announcing
the setup program. The screen has a warning to close any Windows
programs which you may have open. Click on "Next."
A license agreement will appear. Click on "Yes."
A screen appears titled "Choose Destination
Location." Follow the instructions and choose their destination
directory "C:\Acrobat3\Reader." Click on "Next."
The self-extracting file will install Acrobat
Reader.
A screen will appear titled "Complete."
Click on "Finish" to complete the
setup.
The Acrobat Reader is now installed. You may
delete the .exe file
Exit File Manager and go into your browser.
You may now view Acrobat documents on our website.
If you are using the America Online Browser:
Click on the "Get Acrobat Reader"
icon:
to begin downloading the Adobe Acrobat Viewer.
At the Adobe Acrobat Download Homepage (http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html)
go to the download steps.

Exit File Manager and go into the AOL browser.
Go to the Members Menu item in AOL.
Choose set preferences.
Click on the WWW icon.
Click on the Helper App icon in the upper right
corner.
Choose New in the Helper App dialog box.
In the Description command line type: Acrobat
Viewer
In the Content Type and Sub Type command line
type: Application/Acrobat.
In the File Extension command line type: pdf.
In the Application Name command line click
on browse button.
Select the name of the drive, directory and
file containing the Acrobat Viewer (C:\Acrobat3\Reader\Acrord32.exe).
Close the Preferences windows.
You may now view Acrobat documents on our website.
The Adobe Acrobat Reader is now installed.
You may delete the .exe file.
Exit File Manager and go into your browser.
You can now view Adobe documents on our web site.
